Domegge (fraz. Vallesella e Grea) popol. 2600 ab.

Settled between 650 altitude metres of Vallesella and 1000 of Grea, Domegge is the more central village of Cadore surrounded by the gorgeus Monfalconi Mountains, the Mt.Spalti di Toro,the Marmarole Mountains and the Centro Cadore lake.
The oldest sign of human presence in Cadore,XIII-XII  century bc. bronzed artefacts were founded here.Later the romans settled here, in fact the name Domegge comes from the Roman "Due milia" , two miles, the distance from Pieve.
 If you want you can visit the Domegge's Church and the Beata Vergine della Molinà, a little church near the river Molinà.This church has many curious stories and legends.Many facts  happened near the little church . In 1800 ,two children fell down for 50 metres without consequences. The 15 years old Valmassoi Osvaldo, working on the roof, fell down for 55 metres.When his colleagues went down to recover his body saw him searching his cap.  
Another small church to visit is the gothic St. Leonard in Grea. Then at 1164 altitude metres you can visit the Romiti Hermitage, built in 1720 and abandoned in 1810.Now it was restored and is a sort of alpine hut.
If you want to make a quit walk, the park of Vallesella and the street around the lake are the right choice. If you love to walk in mountain and then try the local cuisine Domegge has many alpine huts, like the Padova, the Cercenà, the Baion and the Ciareido.
