Calalzo di Cadore (with. Rizios)


Settled at 806 m. of altitude between the village of Pieve and Domegge, Calalzo is the place where they found some 2500 years old artefacts.The accurate place is call Lagole and it's famous for its termal water , the explanation of human presence in this area.A little walk in Lagole near the "little lake of girls" is a must; here you can also make a fresh relaxing bath.
In the 1878 here was born the first eyewear manufactory; in the years Cadore become the first world discrict of the eyewear.
 In Calalzo you can visit St.Biagio Church with the works of Tiziano Vecellio' s son, Orazio.
Than you can visit the picturesque village of Rizios, a small group of houses in the wood.If you love to walk in mountain and then try the local cuisine Calalzo has many alpine huts, like the Capanna degli Alpini (also with jeep) and the Chiggiato (one and half hour of walk).
